I have responsibility for recording all archaeological objects found by members of the public in Northern Ireland, including Treasure. This spans a time frame from the Mesolithic to the 1600 and is part of my role as Curator of Archaeololgy in National Museums Northern Ireland (NMNI). I will be using the database/research options mainly to help with finds identification and comparable material including reports for the Coroner. This is an on-going process. My own PhD research relates to tools and weapons of the Irish Bronze Age and I have corresponded with a range of archaeologists including those at the British Museum. The Treasure Act applies to Northern Ireland, so again I have regular dealings with the British Museum on this matter.
