Roman dress accessories in Oxfordshire

Principal investigator: Liam
Level: Undergraduate

What can the Portable Antiquities Scheme database tell us about the style and form of Roman artefacts associated with clothing in Oxfordshire?

Specific questions I would like to answer are:

What is the distribution of style types across Oxfordshire? I intend to include a case study comparing what I find to finds from one of the excavated sites such as Alcester or Dorchester.

What do these items tell us about manufacture/status?

Is there a predominant regional style?

How does style change over time?

What can we infer about the daily lives of the people who might have worn some of these items?
