Roman Rural Settlement in Surrey

Principal investigator: Liam
Level: Archaeology society project

As part of Surrey Archaeology Societies Roman Studies Group I have been invited to take part in a research project entitled Surreys Roman Rural Settlement Programme. The project has a core of four people led by David Calow and including Anne Sassin (Surrey Archaeology, community archaeologist), Simon Miles (QGIS UK User Group) and myself.

The main objective of the project is collate GIS data from various sources (PAS, HER, grey literature, society reports etc.) and plot this within a QGIS file in order to help predict the location of new unrecorded Roman rural sites within the county.
