Early Medieval Northumbria

I am currently undertaking an undergraduate dissertation (University of York) research under the guidance of Steve Ashby on Early Medieval Northumbria, using the PAS database.

My main research focus at this point is to look at changing settlement and economic dynamics across the early, middle and late Saxon period in Northumbria, and to do this by taking into account metal detected finds and observing how this reflects changing settlement patterns.
