Researching the development of the parish of Newbald in the East Riding of Yorkshire

I am currently beginning to work on at the university of Hull. My exact question has not been decided yet but it involves researching the development of the parish of Newbald in the East Riding of Yorkshire. I am hoping to carry out some fieldwork to fill gaps in the current understanding of the parishes development and am using GIS as a method of analysing patterns across the area and would like to use the finds information alongside other data to identify potential settlements.
