Teversal (Notts) from Domesday to Dissolution

Principal investigator: Liam
Level: Archaeology society project

I am a researcher with Teversal heritage group and look at all historical data relating to Teversal to build fuller a picture of the village through time. I am currently looking at 'Teversal from Domesday to Dissolution' as much of the land in Teversal was granted to Beauchief Abbey and Felley Priory by the lords of the manor. We also believe that there was some early mining in this period in the Stanley/ Hardwick Hall area ( a sough exists here though slightly later in date)

This project will probably be ongoing for about 2 years. We are currently trying to transcribe the Felley Priory cartulary which we have acquired from the British libraryin order toascertain the extent of the monastic holdings.
