Bronze Age Hoards

I am currently researching for my Masters of Archaeology dissertation at the University of Sheffield. My research topic is Bronze Age hoards, specifically in the western England/northern Wales area. I am hoping to examine why a society would choose to deposit artefacts in a hoard versus other means of ritual removal from society. If possible I would like to look specifically at where hoards (or single finds) are being found as well as when the deposits were made in order to see if there was a peak time of ritual activity in the area. I am currently gathering data in order to determine the direction my research will take. This research will take place over the next several months to be concluded in September 2014.
