Continuity of the Roman road network into the Middle Ages

Principal investigator: Liam
Level: Masters degree

To whom it may concern,

My name is Andrew Shoemaker and I am currently working on my MSc in GIS and Spatial Analysis in Archaeology at UCL. For my dissertation, I am looking at the continuity of the Roman Road Network in England through the Middle Ages. As part of my analysis, I wish to use PAS data regarding Late Roman and Anglo Saxon brooches and coins to help determine relative levels of human interaction. I hope this analysis will provide insight to the areas surrounding surviving roads to help explain why these sections have been preserved in the modern road network. It is for these reasons that I wish to be upgraded to research level so I can turn in my dissertation in mid September.

Thank you for your help,

Andrew Shoemaker
