GIS analysis of PAS data in Wiltshire

My research project is my postgraduate dissertation which aims to use PAS and HER findspot data mapped into an ArcGIS map and investigate three main areas. First, using findspots dated between the Mesolithic and Roman periods to further our understanding of the prehistoric development of the archaeological landscape, in this case focusing on the region surrounding Teffont, Wiltshire. Second, analysing the potential for this form of exploration to be readily adopted as a non-invasive survey technique for identifying archaeological sites and thirdly, exploring the possibilities of assigning these artefacts a level of legislative protection that does not currently exist. The deadline for this project is mid September, by which time I expect to be completed.
