English Medieval seals

I am doing my dissertation on English Medieval seals. In my research I will be looking at the female representations on the seals that were created and now survive: based on the symbols commonly used on the seals that women utilized. It will also bring into account the noblewomen who utilized the seals, ‘the female sealing practice,’ and what that process itself can tell us about the power that noblewomen possessed in a male dominated medieval English society. By obtaining the research level user I feel this will benefit my own personal research for my dissertation in addition to providing records to PAS that I may find throughout my research. For example I will be using the excel spreadsheet on your website and be adding additional fields, improving the spreadsheet obtained, to make sure, for example, that all of the legends are recorded, and will add 'gender' observations found on the seal images provided through your website.
