Spatial analysis of iron age coin distribution in England

Principal investigator: Liam
Level: Masters degree

For MSc dissertation at UCL (completion Sept 2011) - a spatial analysis of iron age coin distribution in England.

I'm investigating whether there is a link between iron age hill forts and coins, whether these coins are clustered around certain hill forts (eg. do the larger hill forts have a higher concentration of coins), and does there appear to be a hierarchy of coin densities that is dependent on the size or locations of hill forts. This will include a comparison of hill forts in the South West (eg. Cornwall and Devon) and the ones in South Central England (Hampshire, Dorset), and whether or not the coins indicate areas of concentrated activity, and do these correlate with the hill forts or not.
