Anglo-Saxon village survey: Carisbrooke

Principal investigator: Liam
Level: Undergraduate

My research is located on the Isle of Wight, in particular trying to locate an Anglo-Saxon village located somewhere in the Carisbrooke area. This village is associated with burials found at Carisbrooke Castle indicating the first use of the site as a cemetery. There have been a number of finds made on the island of the right date, greater access to the PAS would allow the use of the location of these finds to help identify areas of interest that would then benefit from geophysical survey i intend to use for my 3rd year Dissertation project.
