Magic and Identity in Roman period Britain:

Principal investigator: Liam
Level: Masters degree

Using the two broad categories of 'the written word' and 'iconography' I am attempting to highlight a significant section of the evidence base for use of magic in Roman Britain in order to identify what this can reveal about the individual users - age, sex, location, socio-economic status etc.

Access to the PAS will be very useful because of the amulets, pendants and small finds that may be of an apotropaic and are otherwise unpublished.
