Roman seal boxes

Principal investigator: Liam
Level: Personal research project

Initial phase is data gathering and the construction of a database of British finds and eventually it is hoped from the whole Roman Empire. Using distribution maps and other tools it is hoped to establish theories into what these intriguing little items were actually for ; none have ever been found attached to anything! It is hoped that study into the lid designs will bring to light other possible information into their use and symbolism. The results will be published either on line (database) and/or in the more traditional manner.
