Why can't I add personal data (public recorders)

The Scheme is subject to the Data Protection Act, and therefore, it cannot allow people not employed or volunteering under the auspices of the Scheme, access to personal data. When you register and start to create records on the database, the only personal data you should be privy to, is your own.

When you create a record, the identifier, finder and recorder fields are automatically set to your own details. If you are recording objects for another person, let your FLO know and they can change this whilst editing. Remember, don't put your name or contact details into publicly accessible fields!

Researchers are also unable to see personal data of finders.
