PAS 15 – Finds from Merseyside

This year marks 15 years of the Portable Antiquities Scheme as a national scheme. Throughout the year we’ll be celebrating finds from each county – a find a day for the whole year! Here are the finds we’ve chosen from Merseyside:

Early Medieval pin (LVPL-AC6291) – a copper alloy disc-headed pin with ring-and-dot decoration.

Early Modern spinner (LVPL-BA323E) – a copper alloy spinner from the game ‘Put and Take’.

Post-medieval tyg (LVPL-5D58CD) – a glazed ceramic tyg or drinking vessel.

Early Medieval spindle whorl (LANCUM-EC0DAC) – a cast lead spindle whorl.

Bronze Age spearhead (LVPL-68BF43) – a copper alloy socketed side-looped spearhead.

Roman vessel (LVPL-3A24F6) – an almost complete Roman fine ware pot.

Post-medieval gunflint (LVPL-60DC81) – a knapped flint from a flintlock musket.
