The Department of Coins and Medals are looking for someone to assist the Treasure Registrar and to support the co-ordination of treasure cases reported to the Museum.
The role will involve assisting in the registration of finds, updating the database and files, as well as other duties to do with the complex process of treasure finds. To receive treasure finds submitted to the Museum, liaising with Finds Liaison Officers and finders to ensure entry paperwork is complete and finds are packed appropriately. To respond to mail, email and telephone enquiries and keep finders informed about progress.
The postholder will liaise with a wide range of people and so must possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and accuracy are also important especially whilst working with databases and other computer programmes. This role demands excellent administration skills and the ability to co-ordinate and prioritise your workload. You will be organised and accurate when working to deadlines.
