PAS 15 – Finds from London

This year marks 15 years of the Portable Antiquities Scheme as a national scheme. Throughout the year we’ll be celebrating finds from each county – a find a day for the whole year! Here are the finds we’ve chosen from the county of London:

Roman lamp (LON-94C8E4): a complete Roman North African red slip ceramic lamp.

Post-medieval finger ring (LON-32F5F9): a gold Serjeants-at-Law finger ring, cut and folded.

Roman coins (LON-E49DB2): a group of eight Nummi issued by House of Constantine, Constans and Constantine II.

Post-medieval trade token (LON-90284D): a copper alloy half penny trade token issued by William Male at the Angel, Fenchurch Street.

Medieval ampulla (LON-97D84F): a lead alloy pilgrims ampulla depicting Thomas Becket.

Medieval gaming piece (LON-55F862): an animal bone gaming piece from a chess set.

Post-medieval cloth seal (LON-A0853B): a lead alloy cloth seal of the Company of Royal Adventurers Trading to Africa.
